The Ph.D. Program in Philosophy of the CUNY Graduate School and University
Center anticipates making a significant appointment at the level of tenured
Professor, effective September 1999.  The program hopes that in addition to
teaching and research activities, the successful candidate will be able to
assume a leadership role as Executive Officer (chair), with responsibility
for coordination of academic and fiscal affairs, including anticipated
faculty recruitment.  Required: earned doctorate, record of significant
academic publications and achievements, established scholarly reputation,
experience teaching and supervising doctoral students.  Desired:
demonstrated academic leadership experience at the departmental level or
higher.  AOS: Open.  AOC: Open.  A candidate of substantial reputation as a
scholar may be nominated for appointment as a Distinguished Professor, with
