Star, we here in Marion County have a poluted site of over 10 years that is
owned by an ex Lt. Governor & the one that did not make it to be Governor, Jeb
Bush Won.
I have been screaming to Atlanta for months that reguardless of who owns the
land, it should be cleaned up. I had contacted the EPA office in Orlando, FL 2
years ago to see it the work was moving on. A reporter for the St. Petersburg
Times was in the Orlando office of EPA found my name & phone number, called &
ask to cover what I was interested in & is it political? So I made the article
on Sept. 26th, 1997 along with a friend that really knew more than I did. Soon
after we were told the problen had been cleared up & signed off on. In the
mean time the head of the FL. EPA resigned. Very convenient for both of the
partys owning the land. Friends went to the area & drew water samples which
they have sealed yet today. A Pepsi was bought by oen of the men while they
were in the area & the tase was revolting & he threw it away.
The state people were told to call me over a month ago, not yet & we do have
an answering machine although I am home most of the time. This issue is to be
covered by the Super Fund I was told. WHY, they poluted same as the businesses
along the St Johns River out of Jacksonville, FL. which has been designated
American Heritage by clinton. where are the ones that opluted all of this to
begin with? Why should you in another state be brudened with our state problem
any more than I should pay for yours? No different than Medicare, employer
shifts the burden to the Federal Governemt instead of them when we have
medical coverage after Medicare!
I along with others are sick & tired of looking out for everyones mistakes, I
am capable of doing for myself thank them & get out of my LIFE.
