The ESR Annual Conference will be held the day
immediately after the IPENZ Congress in Wellington. It
will continue the traditional format of formal
presentations by invited speakers followed by discussion and
group breakout sessions to consider 2 or 3 related questions.

Conference Speakers and Topics:
'Ethics and Sustainability and /or New Economics' by Dr
Sharon Beder. The focus of her contribution will be on
the Ethical dimension and ethical issues arising as we
all work to give meaning to the concepts of sustainable
management and an economic system which supports it.
'Sustainability and New Economics' by Dr Steve Thompson
CEO of the Foundation for Research Science and
Technology who has Canadian experience both as a
Professor in the area of sustainability at New Brunswick and
as an agricultural economist. He should provide around 30 to
40 minutes of valuable insight on the subject.
'A new economics of Sustainability and Justice' by Dr
John Peet an ESR member with a long term interest in
this subject.
'Indices for energy sustainability' led by Ian Shearer
and Molly Melhuish. They are reporting an interesting
new report on measurement indices in which some ESR
members have participated.
You do not have to be a member of E.S.R. to attend the
Conference!
