It seems to me that the ecovillage is the only solution to these problems,
especially in rural areas. In primitive societies that live closer to the
earth, it is rare to have separated family farm houses like the rural pattern
in the U.S. It is more prevalent to have a village with surrounding fields
that people work, etc. The village could then own a couple collective cars or
trucks for people to move to other villages, towns, university centers, etc.
Also, buses could be coordinated from village to village. Our lifestyle
choices regarding living separated lives away from villages are involved in
our transportation options.
