*oh dear* ... i refuse to argue the above statement (despite its obvious 
flaws) because i don't think these are the kinds of comments that are 
appropriate.  when someone uses the word "should", it tends to point 
fingers and make people feel defensive.  it's exactly these kinds of 
comments that cause the nasty personal attacks Stefanie warned us 
against when this all started. 

i vote that we either drop the debate or at least refrain from making 
pointed statements such as the one above.  teri's comments below are a 
much nicer and more constructive way to talk about the issue.

let's try to be a little more thoughtful and constructive, else we stray 
from the true purpose of the listserv ...
