wow, i think that's a lot to assume. i'd be interested in knowing how
much of these things each of us on the list are already doing.
i mostly use second hand clothes, but not always. i buy political
t-shirts, and once in a while some good clothes for work. i recycle a
lot, but could i recycle more? i have a worm compost box in my back
yard, that's pretty special to me. i didn't compost for years, because i
had no yard...
i use mass transit and walk and bike.
my brother told me that flying in an airplane uses as much fuel *per
person* as driving the same distance. i fly across the country twice a
yeaar to see my family in michigan. (i'm in california.) that seems
like a huge energy consumption, and is a reason i'd like to move back
to the midwest. how much do other folks on this list travel?
i use socks in stead of pads when i'm on my period. (i feel too crampy
to use tampons.) i'd love to tell folks more about that, if anyone's
interested.
i refuse bags when i go to the store.
i buy a lot of books, and i worry about the environmental impact of
that. i will have less money to blow soon, and will have to go to the
library more. but i get excited about new books i hear about...
