It is derived from the word men because if men were derived from women then
the generic would then have to be women and not men. But it is true from a
biological perspective that we are all women at least for a while. From
conception to 6 weeks all feotosus are female. The basic human program is
female. So not only is it sexist to call all people men but it is also
biologically inaccurate.
