Could someone please take a moment to explain to me what the Gaia
principle is. I think I get the drift, but I'd like to understand it better
so I can understand these discussions more fully.
Also, I saw another term, which seems to have been an alternative to
Gaia; however, I can't remember the word.
And, lastly, what does IMHO stand for?
Thanks for your patience!
Noelle.

Gaia principle was developed by J.E. Lovelock in a book titles "Gaia: A
New Look at Life on Earth". It is short, readable and available in
paperback from Oxford University Press. He used systems theory to look
at the entire earth/biosphere as a complex living system in its own
right.
Since then, the principle has been refined by many people. But, this is
a good place to start.

Don't know. Perhaps someone else can answer this.

IMHO = in my humble opinion.

No problem! A year ago I could barely log onto our university system
from home. :-)
