If for some reason that doesn't work, it's quite hard to find:  go to
foe.org.uk, and then to National Campaigns, then Atmosphere and Transport,
then Test Drive the Virtual Car, and then select Metals from the list of
factsheets at the end of that page.  Although this material concentrates on
the contributin which the demand for cars makes to the demand for metal, and
only thus to the impact of mining, there are some useful facts here about
your query.  At least I hope you agree that there are.
