Yup! Off the top of my head, there have been numerous examples in
Australia of mining activities detrimental to the health or social
environment of indigenous people. The one in the spotlight at the moment
is the Jabiluka uranium mine in "traditionally owned" land surrounded
on all sides by the World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. A
