I buy and sell on an auction site called Ebay (www.ebay.com). Some of you
may have heard of it. I came across an auction that was selling buffalo
bones. I sent ebay an email expressing my concern over this auction. Animal
bones being sold just didn't seem like an allowable thing to do; however
ebay replied and said that because Buffalo were not considered to be
endangered animals, selling their bones in an auction was permissible. They
also added that if I could provide them with evidence or information
proving they were indeed endangered, these types of auctions would no
longer be allowed. I am embarrassed because I do not know the exact status
of buffalo in regards to being endangered. I know about all the problems in
Yellowstone and the DOL and everything Jake and others have contributed to
the list, but can anyone provide me with any input about this specific
situation?
Thanks
