WOMEN'S STUDIES
The Women's Studies Department at UCSC seeks applications for a
tenured position in Feminist Theory at the levels of Associate
Professor - Full Professor. Candidates must have interdisciplinary
training and experience, with a strong record of publication and
teaching. Possible fields of expertise include: legal studies,
political theory, philosophy, cultural studies, anthropology, science
studies, transnational feminist studies, film studies and literature.
In addition to teaching four courses each year, faculty are expected
to advise undergraduate and graduate students and to supervise
independent work. Applicants should have the capacity to teach large
core courses such as Introduction to Feminisms and Feminist Theory,
as well as upper-division courses in their specialty. We are in the
process of building a Ph.D. program, and seek a scholar who will make
a strong contribution to this expanded curriculum. The campus is
especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the
diversity and excellence of the academic community through their
research, teaching and/or service.
RANK:
Associate Professor I - Full Professor III
SALARY: $57,400 - $63,500 (Associate Professor)
$67,500 - $78,600 (Full Professor)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. or equivalent in an appropriate field.
Evidence of scholarly excellence and demonstrated excellence in
teaching. Ability to teach large introductory courses in Women's
Studies.
