The tragic events of 9/11/2001 are, in the fullest analysis, a dramatic symptom of the cost we, all humanity - the world - ourselves pay for our gender-imbalanced cultures and political-economic arrangments. It was the extreme tail of our gender-imbalanced world culture and its armed delinquent sons biting the head of one of our most complacently dominating gender-imbalanced world corporate father symbols of imbalanced economics victim-victimizing itself by a gender-skewed and imbalanced understanding of power and force. This tail and head of the same system are both as deeply gender-imbalanced in origins, leadership, history, purposes, modes of conflict resolution, concept of power and world view (yet, both are capable of change and will now change under our collective public understanding, energy and guidance.) Despite some promoting a within-nation nationalist response, terror, and all misunderstanding of power, affects the whole world wherever its target, and it has in fact already been, indeed, long been a problem within and among nations. In fact, the event is the symptomatic evidence of a world system of gender-imbalanced, violence/injustice prone relationship that all thinking men and women dare no longer ignore or accept, and will no longer recognize or validate anywhere, because we see clearly that the next event could be even far worse. It is simply too dangerous to accept intentional or residual gender- (and resulting other gross human imbalances) in our political and economic systems, for they create and attract the underlying mentality of the dehumanizing victim-victimizer situation that puts all people at risk in one way or another, and that the world can no longer afford if our planet is to survive to support human life with dignity and security, and ultimately, at all. Indeed, we believe that gender-imbalance, ie. patriarchy, in which one gender outnumbers and thereby rules by force over our other gender in institutions and structures of any society or nation (as opposed to real democracy, which is always and inherently gender-balanced in structure and more consensual and mutual in decision-making) itself cannot successfully defend itself against its own limits of functioning as a system, which it has reached. Societies which attempt to sustain any form of gender imbalance will simply deteriorate and be more and more at risk from within and without. Gender imbalance has been at the root of all world historical violence, especially terror, mass death and war. Patriarchy has been now clearly outmoded by human intellectual, moral and technological development, and metal detectors and military deployments cannot save it from itself, or us, the human specie, from its many symptoms and dangers. The limits of patriarchy as a world system have reached an emergency condition, and the events of 911 was a universal wake-up call to gain our attention. A new world system must and will now be born now, so the situation does not become even worse and more dangerous or more cumbersome on cherished human freedoms and the next vivid emergency even more devastating and possibly apocalyptically total. Therefore, Announcements: 1. THINKING AND CARING WOMEN AND MEN WORLD CITIZENS DECLARE MARY ROBINSON AND KOFI ANNAN AS EQUAL SECRETARIES GENERAL OF THE NOW PUBLICALLY GENDER BALANCED REAL UN; ANY DIFFERENCE IN THEIR STATUS AND PARTNERSHIP IS DEEMED INVALID. Annan and Robinson should refrain from any activity in which they do not announce and share this official title of full equality of leadership at the UN; and whatver they say or do from this point on, their actions will be perceived as official and real only insofar as they embrace that equality and their organization assemble and act in a gender-balanced manner. They are advised to co-lead assemblies and make joint announcements if they wish to retain the respect of their current friends worldwide. 2. THINKING AND CARING MEN AND WOMEN WORLDWIDE RECOGNIZE ONLY GENDER BALANCED DELEGATIONS TO UN; ANY OTHER DELEGATIONS' PROCEEDINGS AND DECISIONS DEEMED INVALID. Delegations can balance quickly by elevating women colleagues, aides, assistants, wives or daughters to ambassador status in equal number to men ambassadors in any and all delegations. The public will henceforth think of these women as true ambassadors right now, no matter what else is "officially claimed". In rare cases where there is only a female ambassador, she should also appoint a brother to work with her as an equal. Gender imbalanced assemblies, and speech sessions will have no recognition or importance until they are gender balanced, and UN relief workers, peacekeepers and their spouses should refuse to support any orders until official gender balance has been announced by Annan and Robinson, because in the long run, this will save lives and save the earth from looming escalating dangers. Non-governmental UN associations that support the UN must delay the flow of financial support until this balance is announced, and can also collect additional funds kept in escrow as incentive. We publically state that like all governments, the UN does more harm than good when it makes mockery of its own principles of the equal humanity of women and men. 3. STARTING IMMEDIATELY, THINKING MEN AND WOMEN WORLDWIDE RECOGNIZE ONLY GENDER-BALANCED NATIONAL AND STATE GOVERNMENTS AND INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE ORGANIZATIONS. WE DECLARE GENDER-IMBALANCED NATIONAL GOVERNMENTS AND INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE ORGANIZATIONS TO BE UNWORTHY OF WORLD RECOGNITION, AND TO BE THE UNDERLYING RESIDUAL, SYSTEMIC MACRO-LEVEL CAUSE OF VIOLENCE, INJUSTICE AND TERROR. Primitive patriarchies are dangerous in perpetuating domestic violence as well as international terror which is an outgrowth of the violence that maintains its family structures; sophisticated patriarchies (the US, England, Japan, and many other goverments), including corporate patriarchies and the governments which they corrupt, are dangerous in seeding economic injustice and exploitation that threaten other forms of death and danger to the environment, Big Brother encroachments on privacy, social and domestic violence, widespread family and community breakdowns in raising children, and invite a culture of injustice and fuel world hatred. 3. GOVERNMENTS AND ORGANIZATIONS MUST OFFICIALLY CONTAIN AT LEAST 36% of BOTH GENDER TO BE VALID TO MAKE DECISIONS THAT THINKING PEOPLE WILL REGARD AS VALID OR OFFICIAL REFLECTIONS OF THEIR WILL. CURRENTLY RECOGNIZED GOVERNMENTS ARE SWEDEN, DENMARK, FINLAND, NORWAY, and momentarily others in Africa, Asia, Europe that are closely approaching this level, such as South Africa which is near 30% and India which also may soon achieve that, and will be recognized as soon as they reach the 36% of both genders-level officially, which could easily and now must be overnight if we are collectively to recognize them. SIMILARLY, OTHER GOVERNMENTS ARE NO LONGER RECOGNIZED BY THINKING MEN AND WOMEN, and NO LONGER DESERVE THE NAME GOVERNMENT UNTIL THEY ACHIEVE GENDER BALANCE, but again, this could change overnight, and every country today has groups of women's and pro-women good government organizations attempting to bring this about. Governments balance quickly and when their citizens and people worldwide, in our thinking and public speaking, publically regard women colleagues, aides, assistants, wives or daughters to officeholder status in equal number to men in office. "i.e. Senator, Ambassador, Representative. Lord, Judge, etc. Mr.'s wife, secretary or daughter is more Senator than her husband until the Senate, House of Lords, etc. achieves gender-balance"; say this of the first half of the men listed alphabetically in your nations' government roster. This will require some men to give up their seats, and their women aides or wives to have the courage to ask them, along with us the public, to do so. It is simply high time that they graciously do so, as gentlemen; and men and women who remain in titular office without their governments achieving balance as a whole group will be henceforth seen as dominators and co-dependent enablers addicted to patriarchy. Until enough men do give up their seats, simply assume and state publically that their wife, daughter or secretary is holding office briefly, until such time that enough in the body in question officially enact change and balance, and come to their senses. Special elections can be held to further democratize the gender-balanced new delegations; political parties can certainly offer tickets to achieve this balance, as is done routinely in Finland, Sweden, etc. A gradual and incremental approach is insufficient to meet the clear dangers posed by gender imbalance in the world decision-making system. Thinking human beings must publically express disavowal of the imbalanced government until it rights itself. A brief momentary of temporary but good-willed confusion until the change occurs officially is far better than inevitable destruction and death by imbalance (which could occur from terror, war, environmental degradation, etc.) Finally, 36% of both genders is the minimum balance; the healthiest societies may likely eventually prefer 50/50 equal balance of both genders in governmental decision making; this can be explored further as society envisions and adjusts to the advantages - less violence, greater prosperity, stabler families, happier children, greater justice and quality of life, longevity, etc of at least minimum gender balance at 36% of both genders; an ideal society may easily achieve 50-50; Sweden and Finland have already achieved that). 4. BARBARA LEE AND CARRIE MEEK, AND TWO MEN OF THEIR CHOICE (SUGGEST ONE BLACK AND ONE OF ANOTHER RACE) ARE NAMED TO START, SYMBOLIZE, CARRY AND RECEIVE THE MANTEL OF JUST AND REAL GOVERNMENT IN US...WITH SIMILAR OTHERS IN ALL NATIONS: WE ASK ALL OTHERS, CURRENT OFFICEHOLDERS AND CITIZENRY TO ASSIST THEM IN LEADING A TRANSITION TO GENDER AND MINORITY INCLUSIVE GOVERNMENTS WORLDWIDE, THAT REFLECTS THE ACTUAL GENDER AND MINORITY BALANCE OF EACH NATIONAL POPULATION. THIS IS THE THE BEGINNING OF THE "MEEK" (THE NON-DOMINATING, THOUGHTFUL HUMANS) INHERITING THE EARTH TO PROTECT IT AND ALL ITS HUMANITY AND ALL LIFE; IT IS THE BEGINNING OF OUR UNDERSTANDING THAT ALL PEOPLE CAN BE MEEK, GENTLE, AND DEMOCRATIC. TO ASSIST THE CHANGE SHOULD BE REGARDED AS A PUBLIC AND SPIRITUAL HONOR. THIS IS A SPIRITUAL NEW MILLENNIUM, AND WE ARE ALL CALLED TO SERVE IT, ESPECIALLY IN WHAT WE COMMUICATE TO OTHERS. Lee and Meek and the brothers who join them should discuss these matters with the women aides and wives who we must now regard as replacing their bosses and husbands in the governments of the world; in the discussion will arise more fully affirmative, and non-dominating (meek) government to inherit the earth in every nation. 5. "MEEK" WORLD CITIZENS DEEM GENDER-IMBALANCED MEDIA CORPORATIONS AS PURVEYORS OF BAD NEWS. ONLY GENDER-BALANCED NEWS AND MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS ARE REGARDED AS CAPABLE OF TRUTH AND GOOD NEWS. THE ONLY EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE ARE WOMEN'S NGOS WITH GENDER AND AFFIRMATIVE BALANCE AS ITS TOP PRIORITIES. WE WILL TEMPORARILY ABANDON WOMEN'S ORGANIZATIONS THAT DELUDE THEMSELVES INTO THINKING THEY CAN PROTECT REPRODUCTIVE AND WOMEN'S HEALTH ISSUES WHILE LEAVING GENDER-BALANCE IN GOVERNMENT TO WAIT. ALL WOMEN'S ORGANIZATIONS SHOULD INSIST ON GENDER BALANCE IN GOVERNMENT AT THEIR FOREMOST GOAL, FOR ONLY IT CAN BRING LASTING SUCCESS TO OTHER IMPORTANT GOALS OF WOMEN. (This is especially important regarding of some women's organizations in the powerful and influential US, whose failure, compared to the women of other nations, to address gender balance in government as the foremost issue for women and all society, has worked to the detriment of women who care about just government and society worldwide. We hope this announcement will also help them adjust priorities. However, some women's organizations in the US (i.e. WEDO and WAND), have worked very hard for gender balance, and all the world owes them greatest thanks, and now joins them and their efforts as an act of survival.) 7.
