Message follows: I am not sure how many of you are aware of the dire circumstances affecting institutions in the Gulf region. Both Xavier and Dillard have announced faculty cuts- more than 50% of faculty have lost their positions. In the case of Xavier, tenured and untenured faculty members alike were cut. If ANY of you have temporary positions that need filling for spring semester, please let me know. I will forward any positions on to faculty members who were laid off and/or act as a coordinator for collecting CV's of our faculty that I can pass on to you.
