Meeting Announcement: 

Bird Conservation Alliance and Pan American Roundtable
November 9th and 10th, 2005 
The Nature Conservancy Worldwide Office, Arlington, VA
 
The Bird Conservation Alliance (BCA) meeting scheduled for November 9th and
10th will cover domestic issues and the second day will be dedicated to Pan
American Roundtable discussions. 
 
The domestic issues day will focus on the following issues: Endangered
Species Act, Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act, and the Farm Bill.
An afternoon Human Hazards to Birds panel will focus on updates, resources,
action items and discussions concerning issues such as Mountain Top Mining,
Communication Towers, Window and Building Collisions, Pesticides, and Wind
Turbines. James Tate, Gail Norton’s Chief Science Advisor will be the
keynote speaker on the Ivory-billed Woodpecker efforts. 
 
The Pan American Roundtables will focus on; Action for birds in Latin
America – a panel of Latin America’s leading bird conservationist’s
presenting progress on action for birds. The international day also includes
a panel of hemispheric and regional migratory bird conservation initiatives
and a special presentation by Pronatura Noreste about the BCA International
Mexican Grasslands Appeal project.
 
A draft agenda is posted on the BCA Website in the calendar of events
section. There is no cost to attend the meeting, however, lunch and coffee
breaks for one day’s participation is $15.00 for a single day or $25.00 for
