HAMPSHIRE COLLEGE, AMHERST, MA

Evolutionary Biologist

Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts 
institution and member of the Five College Consortium, is accepting 
applications for an Assistant Professor of Evolutionary Biology in 
the School of Natural Science.  Applications are invited from 
candidates with training in contributing disciplines such as 
anthropology, ecology, genetics, population biology, and genomics.

The successful candidate will have opportunities to develop teaching 
and research collaborations with colleagues in a broad range of areas 
including bioarchaeology, computer science, ecology, entomology, 
epidemiology, genetics, immunology, mathematics, microbiology, and 
molecular biology.  Consideration will be given to those who show a 
clear ability to contribute to our innovative undergraduate teaching 
and engage students in genuine research at the introductory and 
advanced levels.  Active laboratory work is expected and a field 
component is a plus. We also seek applicants who can contribute to 
our Women In Science Program.

Review of applications begins October 15, 2006.  Ph.D. is required at 
time of appointment, July 1, 2007.  Please send a letter of
