Title: Assistant Professor of Biology Length: Tenure-track, beginning September 2007 Requirements: Applications are invited for a tenure-track position in Plant Biology at Providence College beginning September, 2007. Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. (post-doctoral experience preferred) and a sustainable research program that will include undergraduates. Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, and be able to foster a collaborative atmosphere among students and faculty in keeping with the Mission of Providence College. The successful applicant will teach biology majors in courses such as General Biology, Introductory Botany, and Field Botany, and non-science majors in courses such Ethnobotany and Environmental Biology. Although emphasis is on systematic and organismic levels, additional background in molecular/cellular studies and electron microscopy will enhance the application but will not disqualify the candidate who lacks such experience.
