DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION MARINELAB, KEY LARGO, FLORIDA =20 Marine Resources Development Foundation's MarineLab in Key Largo, = Florida, is an established, highly successful marine education program which = features snorkeling in the seagrass, mangrove, and coral reef communities as a = tool to teach students about regional and global ecology. MarineLab is a = year round facility containing dormitories, cafeteria, labs, classrooms and = eight 26' Twin Vee boats that safely carry our students to all snorkeling = sites. =20 =20 MRDF is seeking a Director of Education to oversee and implement all = aspects of its MarineLab marine science program. This position requires an energetic, committed individual who enjoys the tropical outdoors and = ocean exposure, is willing to work some nights and weekends, has experience in teaching and in managing staff and customers, and has excellent communication skills. =20 Duties include: . Hire, train, supervise and evaluate all instructional staff. . Oversee staff scheduling throughout the year. . Coordinate program scheduling with Program Coordinator. . Teach programs in conjunction with other staff. . Develop relationships with the school representatives = accompanying the students. . Ensure high quality, safe programs to continue our record of = high customer satisfaction. . Implement the marketing strategy through attendance at = conferences, etc as required. . Attend to any problem solving or crisis management needed during programs.=20 . Work with management team on budgeting, policy structure, annual work plan, and company direction. . Represent MarineLab and Marine Resources Development Foundation = at conferences, meetings and on advisory boards. =20 Qualifications . Master's degree in education, marine science or a related field, with concentration in tropical/ subtropical marine ecology . Extensive experience teaching in a formal or non-formal setting . Coast Guard Captain's License or equivalent experience aboard 20'-30' vessels. . Supervisory experience . SCUBA certification, Divemaster preferred . Experience managing or directing an environmental education = program . Red Cross Lifeguard=20 . Excellent verbal and written communication skills . Can-do attitude, friendly personality and sense of humor = essential!=20 . Candidate must be in good physical condition. Working outdoors = in subtropical sun, in ocean conditions with students, requires some degree = of physical activity but mostly normal lifting, standing, etc =20 Salary and benefits $40,000 - $50,000, commensurate with experience.
