FISHERIES BIOLOGIST

=20

Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri
will be conducting fish studies at an electric generating station near
Leroy in south-central Alabama during 2007 and 2008.  The purpose of
these studies is to evaluate impingement of fish and shellfish by the
facility's cooling water intakes pursuant to Section 316(b) of the Clean
Water Act.  The study will consist of bi-weekly monitoring of
impingement over a period of at least one year.

Burns & McDonnell has an opportunity for a fisheries biologist to assist
with this impingement study.  The position will be part-time (average
one day every other week) and temporary.

DESCRIPTIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Fisheries Biologist's primary responsibilities will be to sort the
captured fish from other river debris, identify the fish to species, and
measure the length and mass of specimens.  The Fisheries Biologist will
also supply input into the day-to-day scheduling of sampling events and
communicate project status to the project manager when necessary.

The Fisheries Biologist will have, at a minimum, completed undergraduate
course work in basic fisheries biology, fish ecology, or aquatic ecology
and have some field experience handling, identifying, and measuring
fish.  The ability to field identify most regional fish species is
important.  The Fisheries Biologist will have to provide her/his own
transportation to the sites but reimbursement for mileage and some
travel time is available.
