ESA Webcast Offers Q&A on the Educational and Scientific Uses of NEON

The Ecological Society of America (ESA) will host=20
a webcast on the educational and scientific uses=20
of the National Ecological Observatory Network=20
(NEON) on March 21, 2007.  ESA Executive Director=20
Katherine McCarter and Education Director Jason=20
Taylor will open the session and brief attendees=20
on the results of a recent ESA-sponsored survey=20
focused on educational opportunities related to=20
NEON science, including input from the ecological=20
community on training needs and other issues=20
associated with using NEON facilities and=20
data.  NSF Assistant Director (Directorate of=20
Biological Sciences) James P. Collins and NEON=20
CEO David Schimel will comment on the survey=20
results and discuss its implications on the NEON=20
planning process.  This will be followed by an=20
open discussion where the panel will respond to=20
