Dear all,

While investigating the proximal causes of bark stripping of beech by red
deer, we found that bark carbohydrate content increased rapidly and
substantialy in time around the inflicted wound. It might be something
trivial for plant physiologists (that I am not...) but could someone point
me on few relevant references about the role of carbohydrates in the tree
healing process (if any). Or on the healing process in plants only?

Tanks for any tips!

Christophe
