     In order to make 1 - 2 cm measurements at 30 m, you're going to pay a
premium. The "old style" optical range finders were good, but not that good.
I enjoy mine, but it is more difficult to use than a laser unit, and must be
calibrated for changes in temperature. None of the laser rangefinders that I
have used will come close to what you are asking, and they run 1000 - $1200.
At distances of only 30 m, have you considered a calibrated chain?

Take care, Tom
