Rubus discolor and Salix lasiolepis as phreatophytes?

I am trying to find something in the literature, or a professional opinion,
on whether Himalayan blackberry and Arroyo willow could be considered
phreatophytes.  I am out of my area of expertise on this topic, so thank you
in advance for your help!
