Apologies for being slightly off topic here.

My husband and I, both scientists, are going to the ESA meeting with our two
children, aged 1 and 4. We had planned on paying for the daycare service
provided/recommended by ESA. However, the cost would be over $200 PER DAY for
both of the kids. This would mean that we would be paying in one week what we
pay in one month for childcare. We are seeking other options due to the
expense.

One possibility is to see if there are attendees coming with teen children or
local attendees with teen children who would be interested in making some money
to watch our children.

Another possibility is to see if there are others who are attending with
children who might want to do a "childcare" swap, i.e. I watch your children
for a morning, you watch ours another morning.

Any one else in this situation? Does anyone else have any other ideas or
suggestions?
