Association of American Geographers (AAG) Annual Meeting April 15-19, 2008 Boston, MA I am organizing an interactive short paper session on remote sensing applications in grassland ecosystems. Confirmed topics in the session include methods for mapping grassland native/non-native species, canopy cover, grazing intensity, woody encroachment, and fire effects; however, the session is open to any type of remote sensing application in any type of grassland. The purpose of the session is to foster discussion on the unique characteristics and particular data needs of grasslands research. The interactive short paper session is comprised of ten to fourteen 5-minute presentations containing a maximum of ten slides per presentation summarizing research or research in progress. Presentations are followed by a 30- to 45-minute interactive roundtable discussion among presenters and the audience. The abstract deadline for this session is November 29, 2007.
