Hi Michael,

Sounds like yellow grubs to me - hard to be for sure with no pictures, but
this is an extremely common parasite in freshwater ponds.  Snails and birds
are your likely problem (i.e., the other hosts).  Unfortunately, it is
useless to try and eliminate the grubs from the existing fish in the pond,
so prevention and control of the snails and birds (or draining the pond) are
really the only options for controlling the grubs into the future.  Hear are
