Dear Eco-loggers, I am a Ph.D. student from Wageningen University currently working in South Africa. For my research project, I have collard 30 animals of three different ungulates species (eland, wildebeest and impalas) with GPS, temperature and activity sensors. I am trying to download data from collar to handheld downloader (UHF) . According to the manufacturer of the collars, I should be able to download data from 1 KM on ground or 2-5 KM on air, however, while downloading data, I can only download data if animal is less than 50m. Other issue is, of course, animal don't allow me to go nearby. I have been using 4 m. telescopic pole and go on the mountains to download data however, unluckily without any success. I am wondering if somebody have suggestion to improve the range of downloader sothat I can download data. Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Anil Shrestha
