I am hiring a post-doctoral scientist for a project dealing with the influences of the mycorrhizal interaction on the evolution and demography of long-lived herbaceous perennials. I am looking for candidates with expertise and experience with DNA genotyping methods, including microsatellites and sequencing, who have broad interests in plant-fungal evolutionary ecology. The chosen individual will be expected to contribute to existing projects in the lab, to mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and to develop independent projects. Expected starting date is 1 July 2009, although later dates may be negotiated. To apply, please send cover letter, CV, and names and contact info for three references to: Dr. Richard P. Shefferson, Odum School of Ecology, University of Georgia, 140 E. Green St., Athens, GA 30602, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Deadline for applications is 7 Nov 2008. Please see www.sheffersonlab.com for more details about the lab and current projects. Informal inquiries welcome.
