Greetings,
We (Jason Hill and Duane Diefenbach) are about to begin a 3-year study on
grassland birds in Western-Central Pennsylvania on state-owned lands (perhaps
up to 1000 ac) that were formerly strip mines, and are not surrounded by
forests. We will be manipulating certain vegetation components and measuring
the response of breeding grassland birds. Most of the manipulation will take
place in 2010, in a BACI experimental framework. There are ample opportunities
to take advantage of this research set-up (for other taxa and/or at other times
of the year) and we would like to see someone take advantage of these
opportunities. Please send me an email at [email protected] if you're interested
and I'd be happy to tell you more.

Cheers,
jason hill

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service estimates that millions of wild birds are
killed by house cats each year, in the U.S. alone!
Please keep your pet cat indoors. It's better for our native wildlife and for
the longevity of your pet.
