At your computer! ;) If you are looking for a book, good ones are Michael Crawley's Statistics: An Introduction Using R or Peter Dalgaard's Introductory Statistics with R. Crawley is a biologist, and his book might be a little more accessible to ecologists. He has also written a much more comprehensive book on R, The R Book, which is useful.
