Dear Eco-Loggers, I'd like to invite any interested participants to a new Population Biology discussion forum, hosted by the Nature Network (http://network.nature.com), initiated by Alan Berryman, Salvador Herrando-Perez and I.
The main forum can be found at http://network.nature.com/groups/populationdynamics/forum/topics, where we have started to post discussions dealing with the underlying frameworks we use when modelling population biology; from the most basic concept of exponential population growth, to the necessary inclusion of more complex details e.g., different species interactions, spatial processes, age/stage structure etc. We're using the Web 2.0 forum to allow easy commenting and interaction between users. This means you can easily include web links, images etc in your comments, without needing any knowledge of coding in specific web languages. All contributors are welcome to read and comment, not only those with direct experience of theoretical ecology. We particularly appreciate constructive comments and discussion from those with different backgrounds who can offer relevant, new ideas that challenge our existing frameworks. Come along and ask questions, post comments and get involved! Mike Fowler
