The Hancock Biological Station at Murray State University in western Kentucky has a 2 year cyberinfrastructure position available beginning in January 2010 (start date negotiable) to work on optical sensor development and deployment in Kentucky Lake. The position is part a grant between Kentucky and Montana to establish a Virtual Observatory Ecological Information System (VOEIS). The person will interact with a similar person to be hired at the University of Montana's Flathead Lake Biological Station and with researchers at the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville, and Eastern Kentucky University who will be deploying similar cyberinfrastructure. The person also will interact with GLEON and HIS databases and with information technology systems at Murray State.

Qualifications: MS or Ph.D. degree with at least two years experience in optical environmental sensors and databases.
