Dear Colleagues:
Hello from the NSF Tokyo Regional Office.
I would like to bring to your attention a wonderful program for US
graduate students called the East Asia Pacific Summer Institute
Program (EAPSI: <http://nsfsi.org/>http://nsfsi.org/). The program
sends students to Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia
and New Zealand for summer research experience. Proposals are due
Second Tuesday in December every year.
The EAPSI-Japan is supported jointly with JSPS (Japan Society for the
Promotion of Science) and has been going on since 1990. For the past
2 summers, I have interacted with these students (63 in each summer -
we have 65 slots) and am totally convinced of the value of this
program not only for their future career development but for the
future of US S&E.
