Assistant/Associate Research Professor Ecosystem Modeler, Desert Research Institute
The Division of Earth and Ecosystem Sciences, Reno, NV seeks an enthusiastic and motivated scientist in the area of Ecological Modeling at the Assistant or Associate Research Professor rank to begin September 2010 and develop new directions in ecological research with an initial focus on assessing the response of the Great Basin ecosystems to climate change. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in either Ecology with a strong background in Mathematics or a Ph.D. in Mathematics with a strong background in Ecology, or have doctoral-level training in related fields. Evaluation of candidates also will be based on record of success in acquiring grant funding, peer reviewed publications, the candidates ability to communicate well, her/his supervisory skills, and the ability and desire to work both collaboratively and independently.
