Dear Colleagues,

The Journal of CURRENT ZOOLOGY (ISSN 1674-5507
http://www.actazool.org/index.asp) is preparing a special column/issue on
INVASIVE SPECIES for 2011. A column is published in a regular issue along
with other regular papers; a special issue will publish only the invited
papers focused on a specific theme, e.g., INVASIVE SPECIES. Whether we
publish a special COLUMN or ISSUE depend on the number of accepted papers.
Specifically, the special column/issue is seeking submissions on the
evolution, adaptation, detection, management, potential risk and
environmental impacts of "invasive or non-native wildlife and wildlife
diseases". All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by at least three
referees. Accepted papers will be uploaded to OnlineFirst to increase
international visibility.

As Guest Editor, with Dr. Paul Evangelista, I would like to invite you to
contribute a comprehensive review article or a full research paper for
peer-review and possible publication. The deadline for manuscript
submissions is September 30, 2010. You may send your manuscript now or by
the deadline. Submitted papers should not have been published previously,
nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

The Journal of CURRENT ZOOLOGY is currently full Open Access. There is no
publication or processing charges, and color photographs and figures are
welcome. Please visit the Instructions for Authors before submitting a
manuscript (http://www.actazool.org/instruct.asp. Manuscripts should be
submitted by e-mail to Dr. Sunil Kumar <[email protected]> or Dr.
Paul Evangelista <
[email protected]><%3c%[email protected]%3e>with
copies to the Executive Editor, Dr. Zhi-Yun Jia <
[email protected]> <%3c%[email protected]%3e> The subject title of the message
should be "Manuscript for Special Issue on INVASIVE SPECIES”.

CURRENT ZOOLOGY (formerly */**Acta Zoologica Sinica/*, founded in 1935) is a

research articles, and short communications in all aspects of Zoology,
including significant new findings of fundamental and general interest.
Submissions in the research fields of ecology, behavioral biology,
biogeography, conservation biology, evolutionary biology and genomics are
especially welcome. In particular, CURRENT ZOOLOGY seeks to publish research
that explores the interface between zoological disciplines, and is truly
integrative by illuminating the greater picture.

Submitted manuscripts are accepted with the understanding that they are
subject to peer review and editorial revision. Once accepted, the copyright
of the article, including the right to reproduce the article in all forms
and media, shall be assigned exclusively to the CURRENT ZOOLOGY. In
assigning copyright, authors may use their own material for other
non-commercial uses or in other publications provided that the journal is
acknowledged as the original place of publication.

My apologies for cross posting.
Kind regards,
Sunil Kumar
