Arizona State University, Tempe campus Regular registration ends Jan. 1st! (Space is limited!) Website with registration: sols.asu.edu/p_summit The Sustainable Phosphorus (P) Summit will be an international, trans-disciplinary conference aimed at sharing knowledge on the complex biological, environmental, and economic dynamics of phosphorus. The Summit will create a stage for solution-driven discourse on P sustainability between key stakeholders, including academics, policy makers, and industry representatives. Speakers include Drs. Dana Cordell (Institute for Sustainable Futures, University of Technology, Sydney, Australia), James Elser (School of Life Sciences, Arizona State University), Cathy Kling (Center for Agricultural and Rural Development, Iowa State University), and Andy Revkin (New York Times). The full speaker list can be found here: http://sols.asu.edu/frontiers/2011/speakers.php. We welcome ecologists, geologists, economists, social scientists, and anyone else working on or interested in phosphorus. The objectives of the Summit will be to: 1) synthesize current knowledge regarding P from multiple disciplinary and stakeholder perspectives, and identify gaps in our understanding; 2) develop and communicate possible trans-disciplinary strategies for achieving P sustainability; and 3) raise awareness locally and globally through an interdisciplinary network focused on phosphorus.
