A workshop is scheduled Monday 8 August, 11:30 - 1:30 at the ESA's annual meeting next week for NSF program officers (yours truly included) to talk about funding opportunities for undergraduates, grad students, postdocs, and senior PIs. There are many standard and special funding opportunities that will be of interest to the community of those seeking funding from NSF, and this will be a good opportunity for you to learn about them.

Of special interest will be a presentation introduced by Dr. Bette Loiselle, Division Director of the Division of Environmental Biology (which funds Population and Community Ecology, Ecosytem Science, LTER, LTREB, Evolutionary Processes, Systematics and Biodiversity Science, etc.), about a change in the timing and process of submission of grant proposals for standard programs. I encourage you to come to learn about these changes. If you are planning to submit a proposal to NSF in the future, you will need to hear this information.

If you are not able to attend, an announcement will be posted to ECOLOG-L soon after the ESA meeting.
