Every year the Taxonomic Databases Working Group (TDWG) convenes an
international conference on biodiversity informatics. This year the meeting
will be held in New Orleans, October 17-21.
http://www.tdwg.org/conference2011/

The primary theme will be “Digitization Methods, Technologies, and Standards
for Biodiversity Collections”.

The program committee is now soliciting contributions that address the
primary theme or other topics in biodiversity informatics. Please find the
instructions and the online submission form for all types of contributions
at: http://www.tdwg.org/conference2011/submissions/

The deadline for submissions is Sept 9th. Please contact program committee
chair, Rusty Russell (russellr AT si.edu) for additional information and
guidance.

We are excited about this year’s meeting because of both its content and
venue, and we invite anyone with a particular interest in biological
collections, or with a broader interest in biodiversity informatics, to
participate in this year’s meeting.
