Hello, I am in search of a mark-recapture expert!
My grad student and I are trying to self-teach ourselves mark- recapture analyses in both MARK and R. There is very good documentation out there for both platforms, but we are stuck. Unfortunately, explaining our problem in an email is a bit difficult. The bottom line is we want to compare survivorship of individuals (not interested in abundance) across groups. We've gotten survival estimates with confidence intervals, but can't get MARK to give us a survival estimate for EACH group. I thought about running the analysis on each group separately and then using the CIs to compare estimates, but that strikes me as not very kosher.
Is there anyone out there who has a bit of time to chat on the phone about mark-recapture analyses? If so, please respond off-list and we can arrange a time that's convenient for you.
