Minimum Qualifications: The level of appointment and/or rank
and salary
will be commensurate with the individual's qualifications,
background, and
experience.
Ph.D. in wildlife ecology, natural resource/wildlife
management, or related
field. Candidate should be highly motivated with the ability
to work
independently. The successful candidate should have skills in
the following:
GIS/Cartography, vegetation surveys, monitoring bird and
mammal abundance,
statistical analyses, and scientific writing. Valid state
driver's license
required. ABD candidates may be considered under special
circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications: The candidate should have experience
designing and
implementing field experiments involving birds, mammals, and
insects. A
strong understanding of ecological interactions and ecosystem
services is
preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of and experience with
agricultural landscapes in the southeastern United States,
mammalian and
avian ecology, GIS, predator/prey dynamics, statistical
analyses, and
scientific writing.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Ability to perform
routine office
work and fieldwork in inclement weather under strenuous
conditions in a
southern climate, including long hours and weekends.
