Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for the ongoing addition of data to the RAM Legacy Stock Assessment Database ( http://www.marinebiodiversity.ca/RAMlegacy/ram-legacy-stock-assessment-database ) on fisheries stock assessments. Working with an international team identify data sets that are available, locate the data, input it into the data base and provide quality control. Provide various forms of analysis of the data. Be responsible for blending new types of data with the existing data base. In addition the incumbent will maintain and update a web site that describes these data.

Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree in biology, fisheries, statistics, computer science, business or related field with appropriate skills, plus two years of experience with statistical analysis and computer programming and use of databases.
-Knowledge of fisheries data.
-Excellent computer programming skills.
-Background in fisheries or a related field.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications.

Desired:
-Applicants should have Experience with fisheries stock assessment; statistical meta-analysis and related synthetic research skills is also highly desirable.
-Masters degree is preferred.
-Computer programming in R and postgreSQL. Experience in building and maintaining complex web sites with database access.
