*Tenure-Track **Assistant Professor in Environmental Toxicology***

The faculty of the Department of Environmental Science and Technology at the University of Maryland, College Park, is searching for an innovative Assistant Professor to strengthen our research and teaching programs in the Environmental Toxicology as part of our Ecosystem Health concentration. The position will be a tenure-track 9-month appointment with 60% teaching and 40% research split.

*Responsibilities: *The successful candidate must: 1) develop a nationally recognized, externally funded research program leading to high quality publications; 2) advise MS and PhD students; 3) collaborate with the current ENST faculty members with their diverse research interests; and 4) teach two undergraduate courses, and one graduate course per year related to Environmental Toxicology and Ecological Risk Assessment and the area of the candidates' expertise. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty of the Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health (www.sph.umd.edu/miaeh <http://www.sph.umd.edu/miaeh>) within the School of Public Health.**

*Qualifications: *The candidate must have an earned Ph.D. degree in environmental toxicology or a closely related field.Demonstrated ability to publish in high quality journals is required and evidence in obtaining/seeking externally funded grants is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with 1) post-doctoral experience and 2) demonstrated experience in contaminant-based environmental toxicology including a strong understanding of contaminant transport kinetics through environmental compartments and contaminant exposure effects on biota, and 3) ability to conduct research on the effects of manufactured chemicals and other anthropogenic and natural materials (nanomaterial) and activities on aquatic and/or terrestrial ecosystems.
