Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor of Earth and Oceanographic Science

The Bowdoin College Department of Earth and Oceanographic Science invites 
applications for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor 
position to begin Fall 2012 in the area of biogeochemistry and climate change.  
The selected applicant will teach Biogeochemistry, a core course for the major 
offered at the intermediate-level (sophomores and juniors) in the fall 
semester; and in the spring semester will teach a senior seminar focused on 
Earth Climate History plus an intermediate level course in the applicant’s 
specialty.  A full-time laboratory instructor will aid with the laboratory 
sections in the biogeochemistry course.  Research space is available, and 
mentoring undergraduate students in honors and independent-study research is 
expected.  Ph.D. preferred but ABD applicants are encouraged to apply. 

The Department of Earth and Oceanographic Science has a strong commitment to
