BioGeomancer seems to be working fine
(http://bg.berkeley.edu/latest/). I am not sure where all of your
specimens are located but I just tested '5 km south of mysore' and got
back reasonable responses.

Also did you try the GEOLocate webservices located here?
http://www.museum.tulane.edu/geolocate/web/default.html

They do in fact work for other countries though I *think* you may have
to indicate your country for these services to work.
I guessing that this will not be a problem since most specimens list
the country collected.
