Hi everyone,
I work for a non-profit conservation organization and we are in the process
of upgrading to a GPS unit that has submeter accuracy and the ability to
use ArcPad. Considering our budget, we are thinking about purchasing either
a Trimble Recon 400 (with a backpack and antenna) or Trimble GeoXT 3000
(with an internal GPS receiver). I have used the Recon before but I have
never used the GeoXT 3000. I would greatly appreciate any feedback or
advice any of you have on this equipment. If you have used the GeoXT 3000
before, would you recommend it? If you have used both GPS units, which one
do you think is best? Does one function better than the other under tree
canopy cover? Does one take longer than the other to get a satellite "fix"?

Thank you,
Anja
