Center for Environmental Studies, Brown University

The Center for Environmental Studies at Brown University invites
applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental
Studies for a non-tenure track position. The position will run for
one year with the possibility of renewal. The start date can be July
1 or Sept. 1, 2012 or Jan 1, 2013.  We especially seek a social
scientist who has expertise in teaching in one of the following areas:
sustainable food and agriculture systems, climate and energy policy,

open to considering practitioners who would bring current and
relevant environmental experience to the classroom. We also value

projects involving students. The teaching load is three courses per
year, and the position entails supervising 5-7 senior theses or
capstone projects. Depending upon the candidate’s qualifications, they

experience in teaching any of these courses will be a helpful addition
to the candidate’s qualifications (please see envstudies.brown.edu for

consideration will be given to applications received by May 30, 2012;

interests and experience), curriculum vitae, sample syllabi (these can
be draft proposals), and have three letters of recommendation sent as
soon as feasible. Send materials by email attachment to
