Hi,

We are analyzing some data to look for differences in species assemblages
between habitats. Some groups (e.g. orthoptera) were not found in all the
plots we sampled. So, when preparing our diversity matrix for analysis,
should we also include these plots (i.e. ones where no individuals were
found)? I think we should since having "zero" individuals in a sampled plot
is also data.

I am new to diversity analysis, so will appreciate any
thoughts/suggestions.

Cheers,
Shomen
