What seems always to be missing at these sorts of conferences are serious
discussions and honest data concerning the impacts of wild seed collection
upon the donor sites and the number of actual plants realized from the seed
lists or "mixes" specified.
I cannot, of course, speak for the exceptions, but it has been my
observation over many decades of practice (in the last millennium) that it
remains common that few mixes actually deliver on the express and implied
promises of some very impressive lists of species (doubtless derived from
much careful study).
