BACBS is a one-day symposium that rotates among several universities in the Bay
Area. It provides an
opportunity to present conservation-related work and to meet other
conservation-minded individuals
from the region, both within and outside of academia. The theme of the
symposium is "Conservation
in a Changing World," and it will be held in Harring Hall on the University of
California, Davis campus.

Our featured speaker this year is Dr. Steve Beissinger from UC Berkeley.

If you are interested in participating in this symposium, please submit an
abstract no later than April
24th on the symposium website. Please note that all submitted abstracts should
be no longer than
200 words in length. Abstracts may be submitted with intention to present
either a talk (15 minutes)
or a poster at the conference.
Please feel welcome to register even if you do not wish to present, free of
charge. If you plan on
attending, we ask that you register even if you do not plan to present so we
have an idea of how much
food to buy.

If you have any questions feel free to direct them to [email protected].
In addition, please feel free to forward this announcement to anyone else who
may be interested!

BACBS 2013 Mission Statement:

To bring together emerging, developing and established professionals in the
greater field of
conservation. To foster professional development, collaboration, and
networking. To further the
practice of conserving biological diversity in our region and beyond.
