A PhD POSITION IN STREAM ECOLOGY


I invite applications for a PhD position in my lab at the University of Texas 
at Arlington (http://www.uta.edu/biology/passy/lab/home.html). The successful 
applicant is expected to have expertise in algal or microbial ecology, a good 
statistical background, and excellent communication skills. S/he will work on a 
synthesis of resource limitation of biodiversity and stream ecosystem 
functions, including biomass accumulation and nitrogen fixation. The project 
includes experimentation with laboratory microcosms and in natural streams, and 
has molecular and analytical components.



UT Arlington is the second largest institution in the University of Texas 
system and the seventh fastest growing university in the nation with over
